Showers asked:

I want to surprise my Husband when he comes home from a long deployment by getting a brazillan bikini wax. I want to know how I should prepare for it, and if you have had it done what is your experience, what do you recommend?

  1. Your hair should be at least 1/4 of an inch for the best results. Other than that, make sure you go to a good salon with a certified technician. It’ll hurt, and there’s really no way to prepare for that, but they’re totally worth it. Your hair grows back finer, and I usually stay smooth for about 1-2 weeks before the hair starts to grow back in. Good luck!!

  2. I’ve never had a bikini wax, but I’ve had waxings before. I agree with the last person, make sure that the hair is 1/4 of an inch short.

At the same time, and I don’t mean to sound gross, but make sure you aren’t having your period during that time, or any time you get waxed anywhere else. The reason why I say this is because the person who waxes me told me not to. She said that the blood circulates more during that time and that the waxed area would be more sensitive and stay red for a longer period of time.
